Plaza Lavalle: Gomero frente al Colón

Every week I go through the Plaza Lavalle. It coincides with the main entrance of the famous Teatro Colon. I called attention to the "gum tree", with those roots and large branches like arms.
Big-leaf Ficus known as "Gomer." It was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Julio Argentino Roca, Tucuman source, who in turn gave to his friend Luis F. Nougués. The actual donation included three copies of this tree: one is in Recoleta, one in Plaza Lavalle, both in Buenos Aires, and the third in the province of Tucumán.

Small, quick sketches of the trunk, roots and branches, one in the foreground which I relied, in pencil. The large leaves, ink and watercolor.
